Wisdom right there (above). I am very grateful for your wisdom and the ability to whisper (post) the ‘pain’ when my writing day has been tough to your forum and your followers because sometimes just writing the letter (post) and mailing (pressing submit) button is enough to lift the fug!! 🙏👍😊

Lovely to know that it helps, Rachel! I think we all have days like that and my experience is that even authors who are very successful in terms that we'd recognise have those days too. It just does come with the territory of the creative human. But, as you say, sometimes just naming the beast and putting it out there can really help!

Thanks, Emma. These are all so brilliant. I'm feeling really down today - the juggle of how to fit everything in - and this was such a beautiful reminder of the bigger picture.

I like to go to Weterspoons for an hour or so of free writing. It's quiet, warm and the coffee's refillable. My Down syndrome daughter, who's in supported living, got to hear.

She said "Never mind Dad, I'll keep you company.

Now we sit together. I write and she colours. Friday morning is a joy.

That does sound joyful, Alan. Coffee, writing, colouring and being with a beloved child. Perfect.
