Over in last week’s Ask Me Anything chat, a supporter brought a question about their novel plot and story: it depended on two people striking up a platonic friendship across a professional barrier which most in that profession - and at least some readers - would know is not supposed to be crossed. The questioner wondered whether they should go with it anyway - after all, there must be many police officers who roll their eyes at how TV policing goes on - or it would prevent readers from buying into the story and going with it. If the latter, what should they do about it?
